A few weeks ago I made my annual trip to Coney Island. I have gone at least once almost every summer since moving to NYC. I went with my friend GG and this was the first time she’s been. We rode the wonder wheel together and she also went on the cyclone, both are two of the original rides dating back to the 20s. We also got fries and hot dogs at Nathan’s, got ice cream on the boardwalk, went in the little historical museum, and got some souvenirs. It was a really hot and humid day, but really fun. 

Earlier this year I read a book about JCrew and it inspired my style for this summer. I naturally gravitate towards preppy and nautical style in the summer, but I was really inspired by they heyday of Jcrew in the early 80s. I was so happy when my friend Holly found this vintage tennis dress for me.

A few weeks ago I binged watched “Welcome to Chippendales” on Hulu. It was a great show that takes place in the late 70s/early 80s and I got inspired by the show to create a look that would fit in during that time period.
