As you probably know by now, I am a self proclaimed Francophile, so I was excited when a book publisher reached out to collaborate on promoting this new macaron recipe book. The recipes in the book are colorful and creative. I haven't tried to attempt baking any of them yet because I know macarons can be difficult to make, but I enjoyed taking photos to compliment the book. 

One thing I've been trying to do more of is having those classic New York City experiences. I've never been to the Plaza Hotel for tea, so when I saw there was a Mrs Maisel inspired menu, I thought that would be the perfect excuse to finally go. It was such a fabulous experience, I went with my friend Desirae and we enjoyed tea, sandwhiches, and desserts. I wore a dress that I found last summer in Vegas and have been waiting for a special occasion to wear. It reminded me a bit of Eloise at the Plaza, so it felt like the perfect place to wear it. 

For my trip to Florida, I ordered a few new bathing suits from Unique Vintage. They have so many cute and more conservative styles that make me actually excited to swimsuit shop. For this bathing suit, I decided to do a pinup style shoot as if it was a vintage Coca Cola ad. In addition to these photos, I also created a TikTok/reel as well. I think some people were a bit confused watching me on the beach and thought it was really for a commercial as one couple asked what I was shooting for. 

One evening I took thees photos on the beach during golden hour. I bought this t-shirt with the vintage photo on it at Madewell a few months ago and had been saving it til I got a chance to take photos in. I wanted these photos to be a bit meta of me sitting on the beach while wearing a t-shirt of a woman sitting on a beach. I also wanted to emulate the same vintage glam as the photo with the cat eye sunglasses, red lipstick and scarf. ​

While in Florida, one of my favorite things to do was to go for evening walks every day. Even though it was still February, the sun stays up longer than it does back up north, so it was nice to be able to enjoy the warmth and sun. I definitely suffer from seasonal affective disorder, so I could feel my mood improve immediately as I began to thaw out. I hope that next year I can work remote and do this again.
